About The Event
CANCELED DUE TO MEDICAL EMERGENCY - This groundbreaking evening will premiere original works by some of our many gifted composers right here in New Mexico, aiming for this to become a bi-monthly event supported and hosted by Paradiso. Until now it has been the big cultural cities like San Francisco and New York that have had Composers Collectives, but we believe we have a great talent pool right here.
The Collective’s mission is to perform newly written pieces from its members with occasional guest composers and artists, as well as fresh arrangements of works by modern masters. Through this pioneering approach, simultaneously honoring music’s greatest figures while presenting jazz’s innovative new directions, the Santa Fe Jazz Collective embodies a commitment to jazz as a living, ever-relevant art form.
